#OnlineSessions P1: Youth Driven Disorder Magazine’s SoundCheck Series

Over the next few weeks we’ll be highlighting some of the web’s finest live performance platforms and the teams behind them in our series #OnlineSessions. These YouTube channels cherry pick some of the best live talent and are extremely importation for emerging artists as a way to showcase their unique live sound to a wider audience. Today we feature Disorder’s SoundCheck series..

The alternative fashion and music publication Disorder Magazine are passionate about nurturing and showcasing young talent in particular.

Disorder works to give young people, regardless of their background, the chance to flourish by offering them a platform to develop and exhibit their creative abilities. Practically, it provides young people with the opportunity to develop their production and commercial skills via paid internships and non-paid work experience placements. Overseen by an experienced core team, each issue is uniquely created and delivered for young people, by young people.

SoundCheck sessions exhibit upcoming musicians, giving them a platform to be heard by a wider audience. Fitting into this ethos Disorder also partners with Nexstar Media, a service that provides young independent artists with the tools they need to publish, sell and market their music.

The Heartbreaks were the first to play at the launch of the sessions back in February 2014 and since then they’ve hosted a wide range of upcoming and more established acts such as Bipolar Sunshine, MiC LOWRY, James and The Carnabys. Latest sessions include London rockers The Blinding Lights, Denver singer-songwriter Esmé Patterson and the London-based pop artist PUZZLE.

Check out The Carnabys’ storming acoustic version of ‘Elizabeth’ above and watch all other SoundCheck videos via the channel here and visit the Disorder site for more info.
