#UMANewMusicPlaylist 4 – We Rundown Our Pick Of The Week’s New Music

After the Easter frivolities we’re easing back into the week with a tasty collection of musical treats…

Anneka – Life Force

Otherworldly, ethereal and haunting are all words to describe Brighton based singer/producer Anneka’s electric  yet natural sound. Her debut EP of the same name ‘Life Force’ is out April 28th 2017 on Anti Ghost Moon Ray. This lead track offers us a glimpse into what’s in store. Described by The Line Of Best Fit as a “purveyor of alternative pop experiments” her music is as sonically interesting as it is addictive. Follow @AnnekaMusic

LYLO – You Have Your Father’s Eyes

Distinctly Glasgow sounding 3-piece LYLO released this debut single last week on El Rancho. Dream pop is mixed with post punk sensibilities and elements of 80s jazz funk. Fans of the Style Council and Cocteau Twins take note. Keep track on their socials for live shows. Follow @LyloBand

Clement Marfo – Breath of Fresh Air

The multi talented South Londoner describes his new single as “an introduction to my sound and style. It’s a cocktail of musical genres, a kaleidoscopic of sounds, a multi-cultural soundtrack to life.” Expect remixes from DaaHype and Cutmore to come plus a full EP coming very soon. Rude Kid feat Ghetts – Banger After Banger

Producer and Kiss FM DJ Rude Kid premiered ‘Banger After Banger’ at Fabric last month, bringing  out Ghetts to ramp up the packed out house even more. This just days before jetting off to Texas to take over at SXSW. The visuals pay homage to the early days of grime and clash culture whilst the fast paced grime beat showcases the energy of  Ghetts’ flow. Follow @RudeKidMusic

Maisie Smith – Where My Heart Is

After releasing the catchy debut ‘Good Thing’ last year, Maisie’s new offering delves deeper into a  more personal subject matter. Fans of Eastenders might recognise her as she starred in the soap for a number of years. No longer a little girl, Maisie proves she is also no longer just an actress but a talented pop star in the making. Follow @MaisieSmith

Tilda Allie – Further Than You

Already having made BBC Introducing The South’s Track of The Day before its release, Tilda showcases her adept ability in vocal performance by her characteristic harmonies and songwriting. The young Swedish singer/songwriter has been awarded with a Swedish Music and Culture grant for her work. Follow @TildaAllie

Tremz x Big Narstie – BD Gang

Liverpool emcee Tremz has just dropped a monster of a mixtape entitled ‘Lifestyle of a Pirate’ which leads with the explosive new single ‘BD Gang’, featuring label mate and grime legend Big Narstie. Both are on top form here over a playful Uk rap beat from Show N Prove.
